2 occupants of the home who were unaware that their home was on fire were rescued / evacuated from the home by a police officer prior to the FD arrival.

Both the Cutchogue Fire Department and Greenport Fire Departments were requested as Mutual Aid. CFD provided a Rapid Intervention Team at the scene while Greenport FD assisted as well with an engine.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire in the circa 1900s home to the front porch, the exterior siding and front room.
