CFD Marching Band The Cutchogue Fire Department Band was formed in the mid 1990’s with the purpose of promoting spirit and morale throughout the Department and community during the many parades that the department participates in throughout each year. Through hard work and many hours of practice learning to play their drums and glockenspiels, the band has become the “spirit” and an important symbol of our proud Department. They now routinely make appearances during other department events such as the CFD annual children’s Halloween parade, the Department Awards Dinner and the annual Chicken Barbecue, as well as community events such as Christmas parades and the Greenport maritime festival. Under the direction of band leader Tom Roslak, the band has continued to learn many different songs. The most notable is the “Yellow Submarine” originally played by the Beatles. The CFD band claims this to be their signature song as a tribute to the heritage of New Suffolk and its distinction of being the first submarine base in the United States.
