 Cutchogue Fire District Public Meetings and Notices

Provided as a public service announcement to the residents of the Cutchogue Fire District in compliance with the open meetings law.   

For 2020, the Board of Fire Commissioners will meet on the second  Tuesday of each month, except for the third Tuesday in December, at 8:00 p.m. at Fire Department Headquarters, 260 New Suffolk Road, Cutchogue.  The meetings are open to the public and subject to change.

This message board will change as needed and should be monitored frequently for meeting dates and other special Fire District notices.  Covid rules prevail till changed by the State of NY.

Be it known that the ANNUAL ELECTION of the Cutchogue Fire District will take place on Tuesday December 8th, 2020 between the hours of 3:00 pm and 9:00 p.m. at the Cutchogue Fire House located at 260 New Suffolk Road, Cutchogue, NY.  The purpose will be to elect (2) Commissioners: (1) Fire Commissioner for a 5-year term, commencing on January 1, 2021 and ending on December 31, 2025. 

All residents of the Cutchogue Fire District who have registered with the County Board of Elections by November 18th, 2020 shall be eligible to vote.

Residents who wish to vote by absentee ballot may either call for mailing (631-734-6907) or pick up the applications at the firehouse commencing November 21st 8am.

The “Permanently Disabled” will be receiving ballots via mail on November 23rd.  Last day to make application to receive a ballot by mail is December 1st.  Last day to pick up ballot at Firehouse is December 7th. Ballots must be received at the Cutchogue Firehouse by Tuesday December 8th by 5 PM. 

Candidates for District Office shall file with the District Secretary, a signed letter, with their address, declaring their intention as a candidate for the office of Fire Commissioner for a 5-year term in the 2020 election. Letter to be filed with the Secretary of the Cutchogue Fire District at 260 New Suffolk Road, Cutchogue, NY no later than November 18th, 2020.
