On Saturday Afternoon, members of the Cutchogue Fire Department were invited to be a part of a special Dedication ceremony held by the Greenport Fire Department.

The Greenport Fire Department was formally dedicating a new engine for the Standard Hose Co. No.4 . The new truck, unit 8-3-4 is a 2019 Pierce Enforcer that was officially placed in service last year. Earlier dedication plans were put on hold due to The Covid-19 pandemic.

As part of the days festivities a traditional wet-down held to officially "christen" the new trucks.

A wet-down is a long standing fire service tradition where neighboring departments are invited to bring apparatus to officially welcome the new trucks into service by showering them with water.

CFD Quint 8-5-3 along with trucks from the Greenport, East Marion, Mattituck and Riverhead Fire Departments participated in the ceremony.

Following the ceremony all of the participants and guests were invited to a reception on the Standard Hose Firehouse on Flint Street.

The Officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to congratulate the members of the Greenport Fire Department & Standard Hose Co, on their latest acquisition, May it bring you many years of safe service.

Congratulations from CFD.

Units: Quint 8-5-3
