As part of our nation's celebration of Independence Day, members of the Cutchogue Fire Department, along with the CFD Marching Band, CFD Ladies Auxiliary, and CFD Juniors participated in the annual New Suffolk 4th of July Parade as well as other activities during the day.
Beginning at 11:00 am This small hometown parade is hosted annually for the past 30+ years, is sponsored by the New Suffolk Civic Association, and includes participation from many local organizations, residents, and their families displaying their pride in America.
After the parade at 12:30 pm CFD's Fire-Rescue Boat 8-5-10 participated in the 4th Annual New Suffolk Boat Parade the was sponsored by the Peconic Bay Sailing Association.
Nearly 40 boats gathered near Robins Island and Paraded through New Suffolk Harbor past the waterfront where groups of onlookers gathered after the parade. CFD was honored to be asked to lead the parade with our boat and provide a water display from the boat's fire hoses.
Later in the evening Firefighters stood by for a fireworks display in Nassau Point. An Engine crew stood by on land while a crew aboard Fire-Rescue boat 8-5-10 stood by near the shoreline in Little Peconic Bay among the numerous boats taking in the show.
The Cutchogue Fire Department is proud to be a part of these local traditions.
