| The Cutchogue Fire Department welcomed in its newest members, Luke Mauro during last months regular monthly meeting.
Luke was officially sworn into the department as a probationary members and represent the 635th member to ever serve the Cutchogue Community.
He was a member of the CFD Juniors Program and are comes from firefighting family.
Luke, now joins his Grandfather Ex-Chief Thomas Shalvey Jr. as a member of the Department.
Under the direction of Chief Michael Boken, Tom was given the unique honor of swearing his grandson as CFD newest member.
The Officers and members of the Cutchogue Fire Department would like to welcome Luke into the Department and wish him well as he begins his firefighting career and carry on a family tradition.
Luke is among a group of new eager volunteers that have joined CFD over the year to continue the CFD tradition of serving our community with pride.
The CFD is always looking for new members to join our family.

The CFD Junior Program is open to youths between the ages of 11 and 17 years of age.
