| On Thursday evening and Sunday morning, 12 members of the CFD Water Rescue Team took part in a search and rescue course taught by members of the United States Coast Guard.
The two-part course consisted of a classroom session that was held on Thursday evening, and a hands-on portion that was held on Sunday Morning in the Great Peconic Bay.
The course taught members the different search and rescue techniques used by the Coast Guard in different situations to locate missing persons or objects in the water.
During the hands-on portion of the course, both the boat operators and crew members were able to practice the different search patterns they learned in the classroom with the assistance of USCG personnel.
CFD would like to thank the personnell from USCG Station Shinnecock, for taking the time to bring this valuable training to our members. |
