On Monday evening at 5:30 pm Cutchogue Volunteers were dispatched to to the area of New Suffolk Rd. in the area of the New Suffolk Shipyard for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident with injuries.
A one vehicle accident occurred when the car truck a tree in front of the entrance to the shipyard. The accident caused the vehicle's airbags to deploy and caused moderate damage to the vehicle.
The driver was treated for minor injuries by EMS personnell and was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport for minor injuries.
Firefighters controlled the hazards, and used speedy dry to control leaking fluids to prevent any fluids from the vehicle from entering the nearby drains and creek.
Crews were on scene for approximatley 30 minutes.
