| On Monday morning, the members of Cutchogue Fire Department came out to honor those in the United States Armed Forces who gave up their lives for our country.
The officers & members of the CFD, the CFD Marching Band, Ladies Auxiliary, and CFD Juniors, marched through the streets of Mattituck as participants in the Annual Southold Town Memorial Day Parade.
Despite heavy rains that came into the area just before it's start, the parade began at 10 AM at the corner of Pike Street and Wicham Avenue in Mattituck and included Veterans of the United States Armed Forces, various school and community groups, and many of our local fire departments.
There were many spectators along the route, many waving small flags and applauding as the participants marched by. The parade continued through the heart of Mattituck and concluded at the Mattituck American Legion.
Just Before the parade stepped off, a ceremony was held at the War Memorial at the corner of Pike street to remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women of the US Military who gave their lives so we may continue to enjoy the freedoms of our country.
After the parade, the members of the CFD returned to the firehouse to enjoy an old fashioned barbecue with friends and families.
