| On Monday afternoon at approximately 5:00 pm, the Cutchogue Fire Department was dispatched for a reported motor vehicle accident on Route 25 in the heart of Cutchogue Village.
The accident occurred when a driver became a victim of a sudden medical emergency that caused him to loose control of his vehicle striking a parked vehicle.
Responders initially were unable to gain access to the patient because his vehicle came to rest along side a parked vehicle confining him inside the car.
Firefighters quickly attached a chain to the crashed vehicle and utilized Heavy Rescue 8-5-5 to separate the the vehicles to gain access to the patient.
He was treated and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead.
Crews were on scene for 30 minutes. |
