The Cutchogue Fire Department is proud of our 86 years of dedicated service to the community. We are always looking for any old & historical articles representing our past for display on our website and in our firehouse.

The following image is a raffle ticket from the a December 5, 1945 fundraiser in which the department was raising funds for a new hose car to be used in competition, replacing the original pierce arrow hose car that had been used since 1932.

This fundraiser dates back to the the post World War II era when many young men returned home to thier local communities after serving overseas. The Department once began to compete in firematic drills and tournaments across Long Island and New York State as it had done since its humble beginnings.

From this point forward the Cutchogue Fire Department would compete and be known as the "Panthers".

Eventually enough funds were raised to puchase and build a 1947 Ford for use as a hose car that is pictured.

If any member of the community has any photographs, newspaper clippings or historical artifacts pertaining to the Cutchogue Fire Department, please contact the website team at cutfd@optonline.net or contact the firehouse at 734-6907.

Photos and clippings are able to be scanned and returned to the owners.

Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to this ongoing project.
