| During the first week of October, members of the new ambulance committee travelled to the PL Customs Factory in New Jersey to go over any final details and inspect the new ambulance before it comes home to Long Island.
Since our last update, progress has progressed steadily to the point of near completion.
Members of the committee toured the factory and spent several hours with salesman Allan Rich inspecting the vehicle for any last minute modifications or corrections that need to be made before the vehicle leaves the factory.
The vehicle is being built by PL Custom of Manasquan New Jersey, and was sold through Specialty Vehicle Sales of Plainview.
During the next step of the process, the new vehicle will travel to the dealership in Plainview where final touches will be made that includes lettering, radio installation and equipment mounting.
Some of the Highlights of the New Ambulance Include:
2011 Chevrolet Chassis with 6.6 liter Duramax diesel engine.
PL Custom Medallion Series Type III Modular Ambulance.
Aluminum Construction
Custom Compartmentalization
LED Lighting
Air horns
Enhanced Safety Striping
We hope to take delivery of the new ambulance by the end of the month.
The Commissioners and Chiefs would like to Thank all of the members who have dedicated time to this project
